4. THE BLESSING AND COMFORT THAT FINDING THESE GIRLS BRING
On one of our outreaches at Esit Eket in Akwaibom state, we went to see the village head for approval. He gave us a warm welcome and promised to assist us in reaching out to the kids who need our assistance the most.
On our way back we sighted these two girls. We parked and reached out to them. The two girls lived in a mud house with their father. Their living condition didn’t look good. The moment eldest one, who we’d later know bares Comfort, sighted us she let out a tear and hugged our Director. More like she had been waiting for us all her life.
We inquired about her and sister and realized their mother had left them to do life alone with their father. The firm grip they had on our Director made us know we can’t leave these ones, literally too. We made all the necessary findings, got the consent of their parents and took the two girls into our home.
In just a few months, they’ve transitioned from girls in the village with little or zero exposure to the modern world to girls who are ready to take over the world. They now have quality outfits. They eat three times a day like every other child at the orphanage.
Comfort has resumed secondary school after passing her common entrance examination with excellent results.
We are so lucky to have them as we’ve noticed great potentials from the girls and we are committed to tapping and drilling them to perfection. They have resumed school to sharpen their memory to meet up with global standards. It’s amazing how one’s life can just change in just one meeting. This is what Sarah’s House Orphanage is here for. Thanks to all the support we’ve had over the years. We are looking to do more for children like Comfort and Blessing
