Our Impact Corner

Some months back we got news of a child who was found in a remote village in Akwaibom in distress. As usual we went to the scene to see the situation.

That was how we found Favour. She had just lost her mother, who’s also a single mother, at two months old. Like that wasn’t enough, there was no relative to cater for her well being. Here’s where it got even more tense, we opened her dress and found out she had deep wounds all over.
Quickly, we rushed her to the hospital and from diagnosis she had multiple infections and was suffering from malnutrition. This was so scary because how can a child that young be bearing that much pain. We started medications immediately which cost a lot of money. But for us, it’s life first.
Thanks to God and the help of medical professionals we were able to begin treatment and restore her health gradually. We did the necessary documentation and brought her into our orphanage. We got baby formulas and handed her into the care of our matron and caregivers.

One would think that was the end for her. But God had other plans. She is growing really well under our care. She eats three to four times a day and is responding speedily to treatment.

We are grateful that life did not end for Favour contrary to how fate dealt with her.

This is what we are here for at Sarah’s House Orphanage, to give every child hope and a home away from home.
